ABOUT THE TAT

The True Amateur Tournaments is an Amateur only Tournament, it was started by bowlers for the bowlers. It’s purpose is to give competitive League bowlers a shot at winning real money, along with promoting the sport of bowling at a reasonable cost with Guaranteed prize funds The February TAT week long Tournament usually has close to 6,000 total entries. A bowler can win $1,000 in the next TAT just for making the finals along with 9 other Free events.

The TAT has 5 separate divisions where bowlers compete only with other bowlers in that division. It has over 500+ ways for bowlers to win checks from $100 to $25,000. With 500 plus checks, many bowl for Free along with all bowlers receiving Ebonite’s latest high performance ball with their first entry. There are 10 separate events with 10 separate prize funds. A single bowler could win over $40,000 in the TAT, Well over 100% of the prize fund is paid back because of the sponsors.

Eligibility rules: No PBA 3 years, no PBA, PWBA touring for the last 10 years, TAT bowlers who win $10,000 or more are not allowed to compete for 3 years, to give other bowlers a chance at the big money, Amateurs who have won $10,000 or more in other Tournaments are not allowed to compete for 7 years following.

TAT uses an oil pattern that is a modified league shot, playable but not wide open. The pattern changes a little on a daily basis, then the finals are a combination of the oil pattern used from the Qualifying throughout the week. Scores vary to Qualify for the main finals depending on the Division from 590 in the 205 division to 630 in the Senior division to 680 in the other open divisions. These are averages and vary a little from day to day.

The Free 4 separate Chance tournaments use high single game for payouts, (2 game Squads 135 winners), It usually takes a 220+ game to cash. The 3 Sweepers use the total of 2 games for payouts bowlers receive a free entry with #2, #3, or #4 entry, these have a 1 to 5 or 6 payouts The main event Qualifying is 3 games total pins by Division scratch, mostly daily cuts.

All Bowlers also receive a Free entry into the $30,000 Ebonite Challenge and re-entry is only $10 for a $5,000 top prize and the top 5 are all guaranteed $1,000 each this has a 1 in 6 cash ratio.

The entry form may seem confusing to first time bowlers because of so many ways to cash. Look at each event as being separate and it will all make sense.

NEW PRESS RELEASE :

The Orleans Hotel Welcomed Its Guest Bowlers with Southern Nevada Hospitality

Las Vegas, Nevada - Another great TAT tournament is in the books and once again the bowlers loved the bowling center and the casino action at our host center. The Orleans Hotel and Casino really knows how to take care of the bowlers needs. TAT had a successful tournament despite the countries economic decline. With high gas prices along with the increase in airfare, TAT had over 3000 total entries in all the events for this tournament. There were 1322 qualifying entries and 111 bowlers made it to the finals with 5 no shows counting all the marathon entries as .5 or ½ each. The final match was exciting and in the end, Rick Mousouleas (Allen Park Michigan) from the Senior division was our big $25,000 winner, 2nd place went to Frank Defilippo (Las Vegas Nv. Senior Division) for $15,000 from, 3rd place was Raleigh Gilchrist for $10,000 ( Pueblo Co. Under Division) 4th place Louis Manzella (Mt. Olive AL.Senior Division) for $5000. TAT paid out in full all 10 prize funds despite the bad economy and fewer entries.

Amateur Bowlers from all over the world once again ascended on Las Vegas to participate in the TAT Amateur Tournament. They received as always, real value for their entry fee. All Bowlers received FREE, Ebonite’s performance bowling ball, the Complete/NV from Ebonite with their first entry. (TAT gave away just under 500 high performance Ebonite balls to bowlers). TAT paid out $20,000 in the 4 Chance Tournaments. The sweepers were mostly free entries and paid out in 3 separate divisions a total cash payout of $21,038.00 (Sweeper #1 had $5,000 added money by TAT).The Ebonite Challenge paid out all it’s guarantees of $5,000 1st and the next 4 $1,000 each with the last casher paid $100, this event had a 1 in 6 cash payout. TAT paid out all guarantees of the main Tournament prize fund with $55,000 being paid to the Top 4 all bowlers were paid $100 or more for every finals round they advanced with Guaranteed minimum’s of $500 for making the finals. Along with all the payout there were extra bonus prizes in all the 9 events.

It was an exciting week as two different tournament players bowled perfect games with an Ebonite ball, each bowler received $1000. The Buddies Mystery Score paid out over $15,000 to dozens of different bowlers. The Ebonite Challenge paid 18 cash spots. The winner was Warren Crawford for $5000.

The other top four were paid $1000 each and included, (2) Greg Corbin, (3) Jeff Lindenmuth (4) Raleigh Gilchrist (5) Darryl McDuffie. This event has a $10 entry fee all Qualifiers received a second Performance Ball by Ebonite (Gamebreaker). Last cash was $108. Where else can you bowl for $5,000 for a $10 entry fee?

The 4 Chance Tournaments had 152 winners. The 4 free events paid out over $20,000 with last cash of $100. Winners were, #1 Alejandro Macias (Mexico), #2 was Rick Mousouleas (Michigan), #3 Curt Guinn (So. Carolina), and #4 was Nick Powell (Nevada).

The Ebonite Demo Days ran from the June 30 - July 5 and many bowlers who did well used the Demo Days and the Ebonite staff to help them get the right ball reaction. Dino Castilllo, Paul Enright and Mike Calderon all deserve special thanks from all of us at TAT and from the hundreds of bowlers who utilized their services. Etonic gave away 32 high performance pairs of shoes to the bowlers in the 4 Chance Tournaments.) They increased our prize fund by adding 32 spots for the shoe giveaway.

We also had a successful run of our finals with all all entrants guaranteed at least $500. In the end over 1 out of every 4 amateur bowlers that bowled our tournament made our finals and received at least $500. These entrants included a 205 and under bowler named Edwin Hinlo who qualified for our finals by shooting 552 and made it to the 4th round of our finals bowling some of the best games of his career and received a check for $1200.

We at TAT would like to thank the bowlers and our sponsors, especially Ebonite,

Buddies Pro Shop.com, Etonic, Continental airlines, Enterprise rent-a-car and The Orleans whom without their support, we could not have these multiple prize funds with so many ways to cash. We hope to see you again the Feb. 2009. Exact dates will be announced soon. Any questions please call 1 888 828 2695 or for more information, please visit our web site at
