New Press Release
Record Entries at the February TAT!
Please update your files with our new contact info:
It was a busy week for True Amateur Tournaments in Las Vegas hosting the largest TAT ever with just shy of 1,000 bowlers and 4,764 entries for the week! We grew almost 30% from last year, which was our last biggest event.
Squads did run late some days due to the a packed house and being on a wait list almost every squad for 5 days straight. I have fixed the wait list problem for next year so this will no longer be a issue and the TAT can get back to running on time as we normally do.
The 2020 TAT 20th Anniversary Champion is long time TAT bowler from Mexico, Rafi Shwartz winning $25,000 and the TAT Crystal Cup! Unfortunately, our champion did not pay the $10 Progressive Pot entry to get the $5,000 Bonus and a shot at the $40,000 Progressive pot but the good news is, it will carry over to July.
Clay Rees from Lehi, Utah came in a close second taking home $10,000. Raul Hernandez representing the 189 &
Under Handicap Division finished 3rd while Chris Bardol finished 4th for $6,500 and was our 35 & Under Scratch Division Champion. Long time TAT bowler Harold Chadwick III from Columbus, Ohio and the 51 & Over Senior Division took home 5th and $5,000.
All of our side events had record entries as well including The Storm Challenge with 320 competitors! Justin Neiman eventually won the challenge in a 4th one ball roll off for $5,000! The Storm Challenge paid out over $30,000 in cash and prizes this year with 52 cash spots. Gustavo Toscano took home the 50 & Over Senior Trophy and $3,000 defeating Jack Thompson in the final match. Nathaniel Potter from Whitesburg, Tennessee was our Scratch Tournament Champion defeating Eric Traylor for $3,000 and $1,500 respectively.
We had a lot of fun this week at The Orleans as the bowlers got there early this year and selling out most of our squads on Tuesday! The bowling center was packed from 9am to midnight and even 2am on Saturday night as we handed out over $4,000 in cash & prizes at the last qualifying squad.
I want to personally thank each and every person for attending The 20th Anniversary TAT Event. It was a very special event for my family. My father, Ed McWilliams, began this tournament 20 years ago and I know he would be proud to see the continued success. I'd also like to thank all our sponsors and our extremely dedicated staff who are there to ensure everyone has a great experience. I hope you enjoyed your TAT experience and will continue to join us for upcoming tournaments that will only get bigger and better!
The TAT Staff will be back at The Orleans in Vegas June 29th - July 5th, 2020 for the TAT 20th Anniversary Summer Classic sponsored by Roto Grip. The estimated payout is $350,000 in Cash & prizes and we will continue to celebrate our 20th Anniversary year with another Special Event!
